Thirty years ago, two people refused to look away.

Franck and Roxane, a Belgian couple, moved to Congo and found a reality most of us never see: baby chimpanzees trafficked and orphaned after their families were lost to poachers. Instead of turning away, they built JACK: a sanctuary that today protects more than twenty species of rescued primates.

But this was never only about saving monkeys. The Congo rainforest is the second largest on Earth, and the animals within it keep the forest, and the climate, alive.

“We are not separated from nature.
We are part of it.”
